An Ayurvedic Calming Chai Tea

Updated: Feb 16, 2023

Simple Chai Tea Recipe

In Ayurveda Cardamom is a tridoshic spice, which is good for balancing all three Doshas. It is excellent for balancing Kapha, particularly for the stomach and the lungs, and also useful for pacifying Vata with its anti-fungal, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties. It can also keep blood sugar levels in check and reduces symptoms of depression and menopause.

This recipe is made with our enhancer 'Glow Simple Syrup' see left. It's quick and simple for when you are on the go but can be savored in minutes. If you want to make it a latte then add frothed milk to the recipe instead.

Directions - Easy Quick Recipe

  1. Drop a bag of black tea into boiling water and allow to steep for 4 mins ( I use Tetley, Yorkshire, or PG tips)

  2. Strain and add the milk of your choice. ( Almond is my go-to )

  3. Add 1 oz of our Chai and Cardamom Star Anise syrup and Stir

  4. Stir and enjoy!

  5. If you don't have the syrup, make your own by adding an equal amount of water and sugar to a saucepan, bringing it to a boil, then adding a handful of Star Anise pods and Cardamom pods.
